Sportsmanship Way Connection

Project description:

This project provides a connection between N.C. 55 and Sportsmanship Way at Ting Park, adding cross-town road connectivity to improve traffic flow.

The connection includes a left turn lane on N.C. 55 for vehicles turning onto Sportsmanship Way, as well as a signalized U-turn north of Sportsmanship Way. The project will aid in congestion relief on N.C. 55 as well as on Holly Springs Road and Main Street. Compared with a traditional intersection, the U-turn intersection provides more efficient traffic flow with fewer vehicle conflict points and reduction in the severity of crashes.

Great news for commuters: The Sportsmanship Way connection with N.C. 55 is now fully open with traffic signals functioning. No additional lane closures are expected, although drivers may see some work trucks around the area as crews wrap up. The speed limit along Sportsmanship Way is 20 mph.
