Middle Creek Greenway
Design and construction of a nearly 3-mile off-street greenway, generally following the path of Middle Creek and connecting the neighborhoods of Arbor Creek, Bridgewater, Woodcreek and Sunset Ridge North. The greenway, which will connect with Sunset Lake and Holly Springs roads, will also provide a regional connection via the Town of Apex's Middle Creek Greenway.
- Anticipated Completion: May 2024
Construction Update - February 2023
The Town's hired contractor has mobilized their survey and staking professionals to mark the limits of disturbance for the Greenway project. The crews will begin work on establishing the construction access locations, so you will see stone being brought into these locations to allow for equipment to enter and exit the Greenway corridor during construction. At this point, the entire corridor should be considered an active Construction Site where only authorized personnel with appropriate protective equipment are allowed.
Construction activity has begun, and you may start seeing flags being placed along the corridor. It is important to note that you should not, under any circumstance move or remove these stakes as they are intended to mark important environmental boundaries as well as property boundaries. Not only is this detrimental to the project, but it is also potentially harmful to the ecology of the site and can lead to unnecessary impacts to private property.
For the safety of residents as well as construction workers and Town staff, do not cross the construction fencing or tamper with any of the equipment being placed on site.
Residents nearby may hear equipment during normal work hours, including some loud banging when Bridge and boardwalk pilings are being installed.
If there are any questions about the construction work on the project, please reach out to Construction Project Manager, Tim Athy, at tim.athy@hollyspringsnc.gov or (919) 577-3128.
The process is likely to continue into the Spring of 2024 (14 months total), so your patience is very much appreciated through this time.
