To verify your age for the reduced fare, please send a copy of a government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license, to hopper@ridefreebee.com. A representative will verify the information, attach the age status to your account, and apply the discounted fare rate for future rides.
To verify your disability status, please send a copy of formal documentation confirming disability status, such as a benefit verification letter from the Social Security Administration or a note from a physician, to hopper@ridefreebee.com. There is nothing you need to do to claim your two free trips. The app will automatically ring up a $0.00 fare for your first two trips. Standard fares will apply to all rides thereafter.

Learn more about what microtransit is on the NCDOT website.
The Town’s service is similar to microtransit programs successfully launched recently in other neighboring municipalities. The goal of the service is to help residents find another convenient, alternative way of getting around the community without worrying about traffic or finding a parking space.
The Hopper microtransit service is operated by Freebee, an external vendor, and is partially funded by a grant from the NC Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization.
