Road Repair, Repaving Begins in Windward Pointe Neighborhood

Work to repair and pave some streets in the Windward Pointe neighborhood is beginning in the next few days, depending on the weather. Contractors will be milling existing pavement and then paving the St. Croix Drive, St. Vincent Drive and Sandy Point Way area. Work on Theophilous Trace and Summit Wood Court in the Braxton Village and Holly Glen subdivisions is expected to begin soon, also.

The work is a continuation of a street improvement project to repair and resurface aging sections of roadway throughout the community that began earlier this year. The 15 road sections being improved add up to approximately 10,000 feet or nearly 2 miles of pavement.

About every five years, a street rating survey is performed on the entire town-maintained road network of 130 miles of roadway. This information is then combined with other factors like traffic volume, safety and interconnectivity to create a ranking priority for roads that are selected for repair. Another street rating survey is planned in the next year or so.

Be aware of workers, equipment and trucks in the street and please drive slowly and carefully. For questions or concerns, please contact Holly Springs Utilities & Infrastructure at (919) 577-3150.
