As the air turns crisp and a kaleidoscope of colors begins to take over the trees, residents might begin dreaming of pumpkin spice lattes and cozy sweaters. For many Holly Springs neighborhoods, the changing season also brings a different kind of bounty: an avalanche of leaves! But don’t despair—Public Works yard waste collection crews are ready to help manage the flood of fall foliage!
Leaf Season Zone Collection
Oct. 27, 2025-Feb. 27, 2026
During leaf season, leaves that don’t fit in yard waste carts can be placed at the edge of your front yard for collection. Town vacuum trucks will collect leaves left behind the curb each month during your zone’s collection week to accommodate larger volumes of leaves this time of year.
Neighborhoods with high leaf volumes will be monitored, and the Town will address these areas as needed to ensure streets remain passable. Biweekly collection of yard waste from carts also continues during this time.
Year-Round Drop Off at the Convenience Center
If you miss the sweep or if you have more yard waste than you can fit in your cart, consider taking excess waste to the Town’s Yard Waste Convenience Center. Located off Rex Road, the center offers yard waste disposal at no additional charge to residents.
Or, call 311 or (919) 577- 3111 to request excessive yard waste collection for an additional fee
