Community Garden Bed Rental Information
Applications are now closed for the 2026 season. Thank you to everyone who applied and be on the lookout for notifications of acceptance no later than January 30.
With support from the Accessibility for Parks state grant program, a new community garden is open at Sugg Farm!
The Sugg Farm Community Garden provides residents with a dedicated space to grow their own produce, enjoy outdoor activity, and participate in sustainable living. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, the garden is a great place to connect with nature and one another.
The garden is gated and will only be open to the public during scheduled open-house events or tours provided by staff or volunteers.
The Sugg Farm Community Garden will have 40 reservable raised garden beds. All beds are 4 ft wide by 12 ft long. Fifteen (15) beds closest to the entrance are ADA accessible and for gardeners with limited mobility. The other 25 raised beds are 12” tall. All beds are made from a non-toxic, eco-friendly, recycled woodchip/concrete composite material that includes a cedar edge for sitting or leaning-on while gardening. Six (6) on-site yard hydrants are available to use for watering during the growing season. Each raised bed will be set up with planting soil and compost, ready to plant. A garden shed is stocked with small tools and garden hoses for use.
Garden beds are reservable annually for 10 months, March 1st through December 31st. The garden area will be closed in January and February for maintenance. The fee is $40 per bed. Priority will be given to Holly Springs residents with a limit of one garden bed per household unless there are more beds than applicants. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, however, no prior gardening experience is required.
If there are more applicants than garden beds available, a lottery system will be used. Those not selected during the lottery will be placed on a waiting list should a plot become available during the calendar year.
