Womble Park Synthetic Turf Multi-Purpose Field
A lighted, synthetic turf field totaling 210,000 square feet accommodates Town Parks and Recreation programs such as soccer, rentals, tournaments, and also open play.
Free Play on Womble Park Multi-Purpose Field
The synthetic turf multi-purpose field accommodates Town sports programs and rentals. The Parks and Recreation staff also wants to maximize opportunities for free, open play.
Teams and organized groups are required to rent space. Times for free, open play are adjusted seasonally according to field availability and demand.
Rentals take precedence over free, open play. However, rentals also may open up opportunities for free play when not all of the field is needed. Open Play Schedule
Check the schedules below to see weekly times for open play and how much space is available. The Womble Turf fields are open from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m. on Friday, and 7:30am-8 p.m. on the weekends, unless other activities are scheduled past this time. Due to the high volume of activity and recurring updates to the field reservations, open play schedules are subject to change.

Another Option for Free Play
The grass field below Hunt Recreation Center, across Stinson Avenue from the tennis courts, is open for free play, especially in the summertime. When nor occupied by Town programs or occasional rental, it is a great option for free play.
Rental Rates and Rules
Per Quad: $35/hour for residents; $53/hour for non-residents.
Whole complex per day: $1,500
Lighting charge: $20/hour for residents: $30/hour for non-residents
Field Lining/Prep: $90 for residents; $135 for non-residents*
Refundable Damage Deposit: $100
* Field Lining/Prep fee applies to groups needing fields lined or special equipment setup.

Rules for Womble Park Multi-Purpose Field
To protect the synthetic turf from damage, the gates remain locked when the field is closed.
Items Prohibited on the Field:
- Heavily soiled shoes and metal cleats
- Food, including nuts and seeds with shells
- Drinks, except for water
- Gum
- Pets
- Bikes
- Glass bottles
- Tobacco products
- Any fire-producing device
- Translucent plastic sheets
- Stakes or turf-puncturing devices
- Golf
- Motorized vehicles larger than golf carts and maintenance equipment, except for ambulances
Other Regulations
- Only service dogs are permitted within the fenced area.
- Canopies are permitted but must be secured using weights on synthetic turf. Stakes are permitted only on natural grass areas.
- Batting, kicking or throwing balls into the fence is prohibited.
- Organized teams and large groups are not eligible for open play and must rent field time. Rentals receive priority over free play.
- Town employees will approve activities and equipment before use and will paint or mark fields. For assistance, please contact the facility supervisor.
- Entry is prohibited when the field is closed.
