Every year, the Town of Holly Springs identifies streets to be resurfaced as part of an ongoing effort to keep roadways in good shape as the Town grows. This year, the Town is resurfacing nearly 5 miles of asphalt along 21 streets in Holly Springs.
The project, began in July, is anticipated to wrap up in November. Nearby residents will be notified by the contractor in advance. Be aware of workers, equipment, and trucks in the street and please drive slowly and carefully.
This year’s $2,495,853 project is funded by the State through Powell Bill funding from gasoline tax revenues.
How are streets selected for resurfacing and preservation?
About every five years, a street rating survey is performed on the entire town-maintained road network. The information is then combined with other factors like traffic volume, safety, and interconnectivity to create a ranking priority for roads that are selected for repair.
